It features nine climbing walls, giving children aged four and over the chance to climb, scramble, stretch and challenge themselves

A children’s climbing wall has been refurbished and reopened at Barking Sporthouse.
The venue in Mayesbrook Park last month unveiled the new-look Clip ’n’ Climb climbing wall attraction, following a £60,000 refurbishment. It has been relocated from its former home at the centre’s skate park into the main junior indoor play area.
The refurbished attraction features nine climbing walls, giving children aged four and over the chance to climb, scramble, stretch and challenge themselves.
The venue is also introducing Clip ’n Climb birthday parties. Regular sessions – which are fully supervised by a trained team – are £12 per hour and children under the age of eight must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
It comes after the former trampoline park was also transformed through a £1.3million investment, creating a new activity area with a range of interactive play and challenge experiences. This sits alongside the centre’s refurbished under-fives soft play, including a dedicated area for children under three.
However, there was also controversy this summer surrounding the closure of the skate park and its planned replacement by a padel facility.
Fatima El-Faddali, general manager at Barking Sporthouse and Gym, said: “The new Clip n Climb is the latest addition to the range of family activities and party experiences now on offer at Barking Sporthouse and Gym.
“It forms part of a wider investment in our junior and family offering at the centre, with the aim of creating more exciting, varied and engaging experiences for local families.”
